Full-View Aluminum Garage Door Replacement: Four Options
A full-view door replaces the usual steel panels with glass in an aluminum frame. It suits modern homes, studios, workshops and anyone who wants the garage to be part of the front elevation. The cost of that look is insulation: glass does not resist heat flow the way a foam-filled steel panel does.

What to weigh
- Glass is the thermal weak point. Amarr offers a ThermaPro Low-E glass option, and Doorlink offers low-E and laminated glass.
- For an attached garage next to living space, ask about insulated glass or consider a steel line. For a detached workshop or studio, full-view is often fine as it is.
- The warranty gap is real: five years on the Horizon and Northwest Door, one year on the Doorlink aluminum sections.
- Privacy is a design choice, not a limitation. Frosted, obscure and opaque glass options let daylight in while blocking the sightline from the street.
