What warranty comes with G Brothers' work?

Short answer
Every G Brothers garage door repair is backed by a warranty on both our labor and the parts we install. The exact coverage depends on the part: springs, openers, and full doors each carry their own manufacturer warranty on top of our workmanship guarantee. When you book, we tell you in plain terms what's covered and for how long, in writing, so there are no surprises later.

Here's how garage door repair warranties actually work, what the manufacturer covers versus what we cover, and the few things that void coverage.

Two warranties on every job

A garage door repair almost always carries two separate warranties, and it helps to know which is which.

  • Workmanship (labor) warranty. This is ours. It covers the quality of the install. If a part we put in fails because of how it was installed, we come back and make it right.
  • Manufacturer (parts) warranty. This comes from whoever made the spring, opener, or door. It covers defects in the part itself.

The two stack. A new opener might carry a manufacturer warranty on the motor plus our labor guarantee on the installation. We register and document both so you're not left chasing paperwork if something fails.

Typical coverage by part

Coverage varies by component and by brand, so we confirm the real terms for your specific part at the time of service. As a general guide:

  • Springs. Higher-cycle springs carry longer coverage than builder-grade springs. Upgrading to a high-cycle spring often means a longer warranty and a longer real-world lifespan.
  • Openers. Manufacturers like LiftMaster and Chamberlain warranty different sub-systems for different lengths (the motor, the belt or chain, and the electronics are often covered separately).
  • Full doors. Door sections, hardware, and finish each have their own terms from the door maker.

We don't quote a fixed number here because the honest answer is that it depends on the brand and the part tier you choose. We give you the specific terms before you approve the work.

What voids a warranty

A warranty protects you when the work or the part fails on its own. It does not cover damage from misuse or outside forces. Coverage is typically voided by:

  • DIY adjustments to springs, cables, or opener settings after our visit.
  • Forcing a door that's off track or running on a broken spring, which bends panels and strains hardware.
  • Impact damage from a vehicle, storm, or break-in.
  • Skipped maintenance that lets a small, preventable problem destroy a covered part.

Keeping up with a yearly tune-up is the simplest way to protect both the door and its coverage.

Why a warranty is only as good as the company

A manufacturer warranty on a part means nothing if the company that installed it is gone next year, or if the install was done wrong in the first place. That's why a written workmanship guarantee from a licensed and insured local company matters more than a long number on a box. We're family-owned and based here on the Front Range, so the same crew that did the work is the one you call if anything goes sideways.

This ties into how we price, too. Our flat-rate pricing means the warranty and the quote are settled up front together, with no hourly meter and no add-ons after the truck arrives.

What our garage door repair warranty covers

In practice, the coverage on a typical repair breaks down simply. The labor we perform is guaranteed, so if a part we installed fails because of the installation, we return and correct it at no charge. The part itself is covered by its manufacturer against defects, and we hand you that documentation. Wear items, like a spring that reaches the end of its rated cycle life years later, are normal aging rather than a defect, so it helps to know that difference going in. If you're ever unsure whether a problem falls under coverage, call us and describe it. We would rather take a look than have you assume you're stuck with a bill.

Get the terms in writing

Before any repair or install, ask for the warranty terms in writing and keep them with your home records. We provide them as a matter of course. If you want to compare options before you commit, we offer a free estimate that lays out the part, the price, and the coverage side by side.
